The inaugural Motors & Masterpieces automotive festival at the Melbourne Showgrounds from November 22-24, 2024, will feature special displays featuring the best of Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
Sitting alongside highly curated collections from ten key event themes, the special showcases will be complemented by a feature on the ‘Wheels of the Silver Screen’, including a range of throwbacks to some of the most famed cars of all time.
Maserati
The Maserati collection will celebrate 110 years of the Modena marque with prime examples of the most desirable models gathered on these shores.
From the brand’s first genuine entry into the grand touring market with the Maserati 3500 GT and Vignale Spyder, the Mistral Spyder on show will represent one of the company’s most sought-after vehicles produced to date.
V8 power came to the fore in the Ghibli, with big, bold styling abundant in the Mexico model, while the 1970s ushered in mega-performance with the slick lines of the Bora coupe, with the nameplate the second most expensive in the period behind the Lamborghini Countach.
Other vehicles set to display from the 1970s include the Merak and Kyalami, with the 1980s represented by the Khamsin.
Amongst the other showpieces will be a Biturbo Spyder from 1991, plus a more modern Ghibli II, 3200 and 4200 Spyder.
Rolls-Royce
Additionally, 20 peak examples from Rolls-Royce and Bentley will bring a touch of class to proceedings.
From the 1920s to this millennium, the Rolls-Royce section will chart the evolution of opulence, ranging from a 98-year-old 20HP Hooper Doctors Coupe through the Phantom, Silver Dawn, Silver Cloud, Camargue, Silver Shadow, to the more contemporary Silver Spur, Flying Spur Mulliner LWB and the Phantom Series-7 V12.
Bentley
Similarly, the Bentley feature will span generations of evolution, from a 1934 Derby DHC to a 2024 Continental GT.
Elsewhere in the Melbourne Showgrounds, Motors & Masterpieces will feature classes representing Italy, the UK, Continental Europe, the USA, Japan, Australia, the Golden Age of Motoring, High Society from the 1930s and ‘40s, modern Supercars in Monaco Glitz, and motorsport favourites in Chequered Flag.
A range of specials will also be on show alongside a selection of barn find and preservation samples.
For two-wheeled enthusiasts, the event will feature machines dating back to 1904 and cover the breadth of the motorcycle world.
The event will also feature a significant presence from car clubs, with a wide array of displays from various marques and interest groups.
In addition to the array of assembled machinery, the event will promote the flair of the Australian automotive community’s best creative talent by collaborating with Lennox St. Gallery for the Art and Photography Competition, with $10,000 in prize money on the line across the two categories.
A series of panel discussions will be scheduled across the three days on the main stage, encompassing a range of topics pertinent to the classic car and motorcycle movement.
The Motors & Masterpieces Charity Auction will partner with respected auction house Donington Auctions to raise funds for the event’s charity partner Challenge, supporting children and families living with cancer.
Entry tickets for the event are on sale now.
